In reply to <a href="https://becomingfullyalive.com/the-still-waters/#comment-6853">Mr N</a>.

Thanks for your comment - I completely agree. We need to "be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." 1 Peter 5:8. I think that believing that "I'm safe" during a season of stillness stems from my pride within; not recognising my need for Him in all circumstances.

May we learn to be loyal and committed to God even when the storm has passed.

These lyrics come to mind as I write...
"What are you gonna say to God
When everything you prayed to God
Came your way but you forgot to thank Him?
And all you hear Him say is
My grace is sufficient"

I can relate Michael. Feel like I went/am going through similar seasons to you in the same order.

I believe the still waters season or as I like to think of it the “numb” season is perhaps the most dangerous of seasons because for me I became numb to the consequences of things and because of that spiritual disciplines took less of a priority and sin became harder to repent from.

Perhaps the mistake is to think “i’m safe” but to always see myself as in just as much of a battle taking place on another plane.
